Overview Moira Shire Council is inviting applications from community groups and organisations for its annual Festive Funding program, which supports local communities to celebrate the festive season with events and activities that bring people together. About In past years, the Festive Funding program has supported town decorations, community barbecues, Carols by Candlelight events, end-of-school concerts, and other festive activities. Moira Shire Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said Christmas is a time for the community to come together and that the program helps foster community spirit, with funding available for small and large towns to ensure Christmas cheer can be spread across the Shire. Funding Up to $1,000 available to organisations in small towns to decorate or run an event Up to $2,000 available in the four larger towns (Cobram, Yarrawonga, Nathalia and Numurkah) to decorate or run an event Up to $1,000 available to celebrate a culturally significant day Only one grant will be awarded per town or cultural event Scope Funding may be used for: Purchase and installation of decorations Signage, banners and flags Hire of equipment Purchase of goods and services to hold an event Entertainment, including music and lighting Promotions Eligibility Eligible community groups are encouraged to submit applications that demonstrate a clear benefit to the local community and promote participation and enjoyment for all ages.
