About this tender

The Shire of Ashburton (Principal) is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Construction Contractors to enter into a Design and Construct (D&C) contract for the delivery of a grouped staff housing development at Lot 501 Poinsettia Street, Tom Price, Western Australia. The scope of works includes the completion of detailed design, coordination, certification, fabrication, delivery, and construction of four residential accommodation units including all associated services, external works and infrastructure required to deliver a complete and operational grouped housing development. Various preliminary site investigations have been completed and are included in this Request. A full disclosure of the required services and work under the Contract is described in this Request for Tender and attachments. The Shire requires a cost competitive Tender Submission on a Design & Construct basis. The Works may comprise either in-situ construction, transportable construction methodologies, or a combination of both, subject to the Contractor’s proposed methodology and the Principal’s acceptance. The drawings and documentation provided form part of the Principal’s reference design intent and minimum standards for the proposed development. Responsibility for final design compliance, construction documentation, coordination, certification, and delivery of the Works remains with the Design and Construct Contractor following the Principals acceptance. The completed Works shall maintain the architectural intent, visual character, materiality, proportions and design language indicated within the reference design documentation irrespective of the selected construction methodology. Proposed substitutions shall not adversely alter the visual appearance, durability, finish quality or operational intent of the approved reference design.

How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Read the requirements in full

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
