Overview The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified people to join its Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) as an independent external member and Deputy to the Presiding Member. The Role The ARIC provides independent oversight and advice to Council on audit, financial management, legislative compliance, risk management and organisational improvement. As Deputy to the Presiding Member, the appointee will: Act as Presiding Member when required Otherwise participate as an ordinary Committee member Role Requirements High-level expertise in financial management, accounting and financial audits Understanding of the role's duties and responsibilities Strong communication skills Relevant experience providing independent expert advice Knowledge of local government financial reporting and auditing requirements is desirable Contract Terms and Conditions The Committee meets at least four times a year Meetings generally run for approximately 30 minutes, with around 30 to 60 minutes of preparation required A fee of $500 per meeting is payable, with reimbursement of reasonable expenses available The appointment will conclude on 16 October 2027 How to Apply To apply, please read the EOI document, then submit an expression of interest addressing the selection criteria and outlining your relevant skills and experience, together with a current CV.
