Overview The Western Australia Police Force is seeking to procure a purpose-built, mobile alcohol and drug testing vehicle solution dedicated to deployment in regional and remote Western Australia. About The WA Police Force operates a well-established and successful roadside alcohol and drug testing program, supported by a small fleet of Breath and Drug (BaD) buses and vans that are routinely deployed across metropolitan and regional areas. While these vehicles are capable of operating in regional Western Australia, they were not specifically designed for sustained deployment in regional or remote environments. Their size, manoeuvrability, and suitability for regional deployment can present operational challenges given road conditions, distances, and environmental factors across the state. Purpose The procurement is intended to support the ongoing delivery of the WA Police Force's roadside alcohol and drug testing program by investing in a dedicated vehicle platform specifically designed for regional and remote operations. A modern platform designed for regional operating environments would provide greater mobility, reliability and self-sufficiency where access to suitable facilities and supporting infrastructure is limited. The vehicle would support compliance with contemporary workplace health and safety requirements by providing a safe and fit-for-purpose environment for members undertaking testing activities, while also enhancing privacy and dignity for drivers undergoing alcohol and drug testing. The vehicle is intended to complement the existing fleet by providing capability specifically designed for regional WA, improving accessibility, flexibility, and working conditions during extended operations. Scope The scope includes: Provision of a suitable vehicle platform for mobile alcohol and drug testing operations in regional and remote environments Specialised workstations and operational fit-out Power generation Lighting Communications cabling Safety systems Storage Amenities Integration provisions for the WA Police Force's supplied equipment The vehicle solution may be a cab chassis with a purpose-built fit-out or a modified bus platform.
