Reconstruction of French Street, Coral Bay

Overview The Shire of Carnarvon is seeking a contractor to undertake the reconstruction of French Street in Coral Bay, including car parking, drainage, a pedestrian crossing, signage and line marking, and a shared footpath. Scope The scope includes: Civil construction works comprising traffic lane, shared path and drainage works Clearing and grubbing: clearing, removing and disposing of all vegetation within the designated disturbance area at an approved disposal location Removal of all trees within the designated works area, as per the final design, and disposal of the resulting vegetation at an approved disposal location Topsoil stripping: stripping and stockpiling topsoil to an approved location as per the technical specification Embankment foundation preparation: ripping, moisture conditioning and compacting existing in-situ material in all fill areas prior to placement of embankment material Embankment construction: undertaking cut-to-fill and cut-to-spoil earthworks to construct embankments in accordance with the approved design Drainage works: supply and installation of soak wells and alterations to existing drainage structures as per the technical specification and approved design drawings Construction of a mass limestone gravity retaining wall to the standards shown on the drawings and specification Subgrade preparation: conditioning, mixing, compacting and trimming subgrade material within both cut and fill sections of the road formation Pavement construction: supply, placement, conditioning, mixing, compacting and trimming of the gravel basecourse (minimum compacted thickness 200mm) pavement layer to the specified design thickness Tack coat application: applying a uniform tack coat to the entire pavement surface in accordance with MRWA Specification 504 Asphalt surfacing of traffic lanes and car parking: supply and laying of 40mm thick (DGA10) asphalt atop a 10mm primer seal in accordance with applicable ALFA and IPWEA specifications Shared path construction using Terracotta concrete comprised of normal grey cement with 20kg of colour dose per cubic metre of concrete, in accordance with specification and AS1379 Service relocation and approvals: obtaining all approvals from service utility providers required to undertake the works, including payment of any application, approval, design or other applicable third-party fees Traffic management devices: supply and installation of all regulatory signs, pavement markings and guideposts in accordance with the approved design and MRWA requirements Signs, line marking and guideposts: supply and installation of all signage, line marking and guideposts as per the approved design by MRWA Addressing any items identified during the pre-opening inspection by an Independent Road Safety Auditor prior to opening (the Client will be responsible for organising the Independent Road Safety Auditor) Tidying up the work site to the Superintendent's satisfaction
