Structural Upgrades to Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre

Overview The Shire of Broome (Kimberley (WA)) is seeking a contractor to carry out structural upgrades to the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre (BRAC). About The BRAC building is intended to operate as an Emergency Evacuation Shelter during cyclone, fire and other emergency situations. Purpose As part of a review of the building structure and the need for the building to achieve an Importance Level 4 rating, certain structural and other modifications have been identified as being required. Scope The scope of work is set out in the drawings included in the RFT and is limited to works required to achieve structural compliance of the building with an Importance Level 4 rating, including all sundry materials and works required to achieve the design outcome set out in the documents. The scope includes: Additional structural steel beams over existing squash courts Cyclonic screens over two rows of louvers above courts Steel plate above two roller doors Additional girts at four corners of courts Additional structural beam and fly bracing at entry to toilets Additional wall sheeting over existing cladding Additional wall framing and structural works for store room Minor electrical works to accommodate new infrastructure
