Cleaning Automation Initiative EOI (Phase 1)
Tender Overview
About this tender
Overview HealthShare NSW is inviting expressions of interest for Phase 1 of the Cleaning Automation Initiative, seeking to assess the effectiveness, usability, safety, reliability, and operational suitability of autonomous cleaning technologies in healthcare environments. About In 2023, HealthShare NSW undertook a trial of autonomous floor scrubbing technology within a hospital environment to evaluate the potential benefits of cleaning automation. Outcomes from this trial identified opportunities to improve cleaning consistency, enhance workforce utilisation, reduce repetitive manual handling activities, and improve visibility of cleaning activities through digital reporting and telemetry. Since completion of the trial, autonomous cleaning technologies have continued to mature considerably. HealthShare NSW is now seeking to assess a broader range of cleaning automation solutions, including autonomous floor scrubbers and autonomous vacuum cleaners. Objectives This Expression of Interest forms the first stage of a three-stage procurement process intended to: Understand current market capability Assess the maturity of available technologies Evaluate suitability for healthcare environments Identify suppliers for participation in a structured trial program Inform future procurement and implementation decisions Instructions to Respondents The procurement process will follow a multi-stage approach: Phase 1: Expression of Interest (EOI) Phase 2: Placement Trials Phase 3: Request for Tender (RFT) Enquiries Primary contact: murray.affleck@health.nsw.gov.au, 02 8644 2528
How to respond to this tender
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Read the requirements in full
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Answer every criterion with evidence
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Lodge early through the official portal
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
