About this tender
CQU intends to replace the University’s existing data centre network due to its age and associated risks. The objective is to deliver a replacement solution that minimises operational disruption while maintaining established architectural principles, such as the current leaf-spine design and routing frameworks. Vendors are encouraged to propose alternative or enhanced solutions where these can clearly demonstrate improvements in operational simplicity, network resilience, or long-term cost efficiency, without significantly increasing implementation risk or complexity. The University is seeking a straightforward, robust, and reliable solution based on conventional routing and switching technologies. The proposed solution must be easy to manage and provide seamless interoperability with existing network and server infrastructure. The network must support access port speeds of 1, 10, 25, and 40 Gbps, with uplink capacity to the core of 25, 40, and 100 Gbps. Additionally, the solution must support MACsec capabilities and enable hitless upgrades to ensure continuity of service.
