About this tender
Overview Inner West Council is seeking to engage a suitably qualified conservation contractor to assess, conserve, restore and document the Marrickville Mosaics collection in accordance with recognised conservation standards and heritage best practice, while providing a sustainable maintenance framework for the future management of the collection. Scope The scope includes: Condition verification of the mosaics collection, comprising 78 mosaics, of which 69 have been identified as requiring restoration Cleaning of the mosaics Stabilisation of the mosaics Repair of the mosaics Partial reconstruction of the mosaics where required Major reconstruction of the mosaics where required Documentation of the assessment, conservation and restoration works undertaken Provision of a sustainable maintenance framework for the future management of the collection Restoration works must match original colours, materials, patterns and design intent as closely as practicable and comply with AICCM conservation principles. Out of Scope Footpath repairs unrelated to mosaic conservation Structural slab repairs, unless approved through Council's latent conditions process Contractor Requirements Suitably qualified in conservation, restoration and heritage works Compliance with recognised conservation standards and heritage best practice, including AICCM conservation principles Tender Briefing A non-mandatory site briefing will be held for this opportunity.
