Lane Cove Council is seeking quotations from suitably qualified contractors to undertake structural improvement works within the Civic Centre (Cove Room) and stabilisation/remedial works to the Northern Stairs area. Scope of Works: 1. Civic Centre – Structural Works (Cove Room) Site establishment, WHS documentation, and project management Protection of existing finishes and adjacent areas Temporary relocation of items as required to facilitate works Investigation and preparation of existing structural elements Supply, fabrication, and installation of structural supports (e.g. beams, columns, or equivalent as required by design) Modifications to existing building elements (including ceilings, walls, or masonry) as required Coordination with a qualified Structural Engineer for design confirmation, inspections, and certification Reinstatement of all affected finishes, including ceiling and surface linings, to match existing Removal and disposal of all waste and site clean-up 2. Northern Stairs – Structural Stabilisation Works Site establishment, access control, and safety measures Investigation and identification of required stabilisation methodology Engagement of a qualified Structural Engineer to confirm design requirements and provide certification Installation of an appropriate structural tie or reinforcement system (e.g. Helifix or equivalent approved system) Associated preparatory works to facilitate installation Making good of all affected surfaces, including render and paint to match existing finishes Completion of works in accordance with any operational constraints (including potential out-of-hours works) Disposal of waste and final site clean-up Pricing Requirements: Provide a lump sum price (GST exclusive) for the full scope Pricing must include all labour, materials, plant, engineering, and associated costs Provide a cost breakdown between the two work areas (Cove Room and Northern Stairs) Deliverables: Completed works compliant with relevant standards and engineering requirements Structural certification from a qualified engineer All finishes reinstated to match existing conditions Site left clean and operational Contractor Requirements: Demonstrated experience in structural works and/or remediation Relevant licences and insurances Compliance with WHS legislation and Council requirements Ability to coordinate and deliver within required timeframes Additional Notes: Contractors are encouraged to attend a site inspection prior to submission All methodologies are to be proposed by the contractor and supported by appropriate engineering design and certification Council will assess submissions based on capability, methodology, and value Mandatory Site Inspection Tuesday 30 June 2026 10am Lane Cove Council, Civic Centre, 48 Longueville Road Lane Cove
