Alcohol and Other Drugs Youth Grants 2026/27

Overview NT Health is inviting applications for the Alcohol and Other Drugs Youth Grants 2026/27, offering one-off grants to community groups and non-government organisations for projects and initiatives across the Northern Territory. About The Northern Territory Government leads the strategic policy and planning agenda for alcohol and other drugs (AOD) in the Northern Territory in partnership with health services, non-government organisations and consumers. The AOD Youth Grants program aims to minimise harm associated with the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, including volatile substances, through a range of prevention, education and community action initiatives. Purpose The key focus areas for 2026/27 applications are community-led initiatives that support young people to be healthy, connected, and resilient through activities that strengthen wellbeing, cultural identity, leadership development and protective factors against alcohol and other drug-related harm. Applicants must demonstrate that the activities are consistent with the National Drug Strategy 2017-2026, the National Strategic Framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Mental Health and Social Emotional Wellbeing 2017-2023, the Safe & Supported: the National Framework for Protecting Australia's Children 2021-2031, the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, and the Engage! strategy of the Office for Youth, Australian Government. Projects and initiatives must be specifically for the Northern Territory. Funding Funding of up to $20,000 is available for individual projects or initiatives across the NT. The following types of projects can be funded: Single activities or initiatives Activities over a period of time Information sessions Projects or programs that are a combination of a regular series of activities Collaborative projects with other community groups and/or service providers Projects must be supported within the community and have a maximum duration of 12 months. Projects and initiatives must be specifically for the Northern Territory, and applicants should demonstrate previous successful delivery and reporting of funded projects, as well as consistency with the National Drug Strategy 2017-2026, the National Strategic Framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Mental Health and Social Emotional Wellbeing 2017-2023, the Safe & Supported: the National Framework for Protecting Australia's Children 2021-2031, the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, and the Engage! strategy of the Office for Youth, Australian Government. Eligibility Funding is available to individuals and not-for-profit organisations. Individuals Must have completed all required information in the application form and submitted required documentation in support of the application Must reside in the NT for the duration of the funded activity Must not have an outstanding acquittal or other accountability requirement for this grant Organisations Must meet one of the following: Be incorporated under and compliant with the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act (Commonwealth) Be incorporated under and compliant with one of: the Associations Act (NT), the Corporations Act 2001, the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act (Commonwealth), or any other Act of Parliament Be a local governing body or an incorporated organisation delivering local government or municipal services Be incorporated under and compliant with the Associations Act (NT) Be operating as a sole trader Organisations must also: Be physically located and actively operating in the NT Have met acquittal requirements for all previous funding under this grant and complied with all other accountability requirements Have completed all required information in the application form and submitted required documentation in support of the application Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) Have public liability insurance of at least $10 million
