Overview The Ministry of Education (NZ) is seeking a main building contractor to carry out roofing repairs to Blocks 1, 2, 3 and 4 at Tui Glen School, Stokes Valley, Lower Hutt. About Ongoing regular water ingress in the buildings at Tui Glen School led to a targeted condition assessment, which identified deterioration in roof coverings. This deterioration extends to the flat roofs of Blocks 1, 2 and 3, and the entire metal roof of Block 4. Scope The scope includes: Replacement of the Block 1 and Block 2 membrane roofs with a warm roof solution Removal of skylights from Blocks 1 and 2 Alteration and replacement of clerestory windows on Blocks 1 and 2, complete with manual winding gear, arising from proposed roof pitch changes Replacement of the Block 3 flat metal roof, with improvements to the roof pitch Replacement of clerestory windows on Block 3, complete with manual winding gear Replacement of the entire Block 4 roof, including development of 450 mm extended gable ends Replacement of the Block 4 asbestos wall cladding with timber weatherboards Consequential interior works, including replacement of damaged ceiling and wall linings Delivery of the works in a phased approach, utilising school holidays where possible and following an agreed sequential delivery to minimise disruption to normal school operations Undertaking of asbestos removal during school holiday periods
