About this tender
Overview South West Institute of TAFE (SWTAFE) is seeking tender submissions from suitably qualified and experienced mechanical contractors for the SWTAFE F Building Mechanical Upgrade Project, involving replacement of HVAC infrastructure within F Building at SWTAFE's Warrnambool City Campus. Scope The scope includes: Appointment of the successful contractor as Head Contractor, responsible for the coordination and provision of all construction implementation Design and engineering services and engagement with authorities, including but not limited to a Registered Building Surveyor Site investigations and existing infrastructure reviews, obtaining relevant approvals and sign-offs, and implementation of the final scope of works onsite The high level scope includes but is not limited to: General Responsibilities Provision of complete management, supervision, labour, plant, materials, and temporary works to deliver the mechanical upgrade in accordance with tender drawings, specifications, demolition drawings, schedules, Section J and all applicable codes and Australian Standards Site Establishment and Safety Arrangement Establishment of site compound, amenities, fencing/hoardings, protections, temporary power/water, and security Arrangement of all permits and provision of temporary ventilation/air-conditioning arrangements, dust/noise controls, and temporary fire protection measures to maintain operations during works Demolition and Strip Out Builder's works associated with mechanical services Decommissioning and removal of redundant mechanical plant and ductwork, and making good all affected surfaces (ceilings, walls, roof, waterproofing) ready for new works Structural, Electrical and Architectural Interfaces Provision of certified structural shop drawings for platforms, penetrations, and supports Provision of all electrical works required to power the new mechanical system, including main switchboard, mechanical switchboards, associated cabling and labelling, and test results Mechanical Systems Supply and Installation Supply and installation of all selected equipment per the design, including ductwork, pipework, louvres and weather hoods, and balancing provisions Testing, Commissioning and Documentation Testing, commissioning, documentation, quality assurance, as-built drawings, and handover Instructions to Tenderers As part of the Request for Tender (RFT) process, a specification document and full design drawing set will be provided to tenderers. Key dates for this procurement process are indicative only: ATN Release Date: 10th August 2026 ATN Close Date: 17th August 2026 RFT Open Date: 18th August 2026 RFT Close Date: 8th September 2026 Contract Award: 25th September 2026 Following closure of this ATN, a Request for Tender (RFT) will be issued via the TendersVic portal. The RFT process will be open to all interested parties, and evaluation criteria and weightings will be provided within the RFT documentation to enable suppliers to submit tender responses aligned to these.
