About this tender
Overview North East Water is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to complete maintenance desludging activities at the Myrtleford and North Wangaratta wastewater treatment plants during the summer period of 2026/27. Scope The lagoons will remain online where practical, with temporary bypass and isolation of aeration carried out by North East Water operations personnel in consultation with contractor requirements. The mass of biosolids to be removed will be determined in consultation with North East Water, taking into account the estimated amount of sludge in the lagoon, the size of the lagoon, available budget, and allowance for weather. The scope includes: Mobilisation to site to undertake desludging works Desludging and dewatering of the targeted lagoons, preferably via dredge and mechanical dewatering Temporary stockpiling of biosolids Supply of all dredging and dewatering equipment, to be temporarily installed within designated locations onsite to allow ongoing operation of the wastewater treatment plant Desludging of Myrtleford Wastewater Treatment Plant Secondary Lagoon 2A (13ML, approx. 100m x 50m x 2.6m; estimated total sludge volume approx. 150 dry tonne) Desludging of North Wangaratta Wastewater Treatment Plant Primary Lagoon 1 (31ML, approx. 200m x 95m x 2.0m; estimated total sludge volume approx. 400 dry tonne) Provisional desludging, subject to budget and timing and provided the above works are not impacted, of Myrtleford Wastewater Treatment Plant Secondary Lagoon 2B (13ML, approx. 100m x 50m x 2.6m; estimated total sludge volume approx. 50 dry tonne) and North Wangaratta Wastewater Treatment Plant Secondary Lagoon 2 (31ML, approx. 200m x 95m x 2.0m; estimated total sludge volume approx. 200 dry tonne) Dedicated areas will be identified by North East Water within the confines of the wastewater treatment plant site to accommodate sludge drying and biosolids stockpiling.
