Overview WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) is issuing this Early Tender Advice for an upcoming Request for Quote covering Psychological Therapies in Residential Aged Care Homes (RACHs) across Country WA. WAPHA is commissioning in house Psychological Treatment Services for residents of RACHs. About Older people living in residential aged care homes experience disproportionately high rates of common mental illness, particularly depression and anxiety. Despite this level of need, residents of RACHs face significant and well documented barriers to accessing timely and appropriate mental health care. Purpose The intent of the Residential Aged Care Home Psychological Treatment service is to improve mental health and wellbeing outcomes for residents by addressing current access barriers. The service will operate as part of a broader stepped care mental health system and seeks to strengthen integration between aged care, primary care and specialist mental health services, in response to the systemic gap in mental health care access for RACH residents.
